Peter Jewkes attended his first service at CCSL at the age of 16, and at 18 sat for his Licentiate Diploma from Trinity College London on the CCSL organ. His training in organ and choral conducting included a residency at the Royal School of Church Music, Addington Palace UK. Peter has held various organist posts throughout his career including at Scots Kirk Mosman, the Sydney University Graduates’ Choir, St Bride’s Fleet St London, and St James’ King St. He was Assistant Organist at CCSl from 1980 to 1985, returning as Organist at the beginning of 1997. He has given recitals throughout the world, and makes a specialty of liturgical accompaniment and improvisation. Peter is also an organbuilder, and has served several terms as President of the Australian Guild of Master Organbuilders, and as Deputy President of the Organ Music Society of Sydney.
